Ole Houe

CEO

Ole Houe has been involved in International Trading and Risk Management for more than 20 years in a number of different roles with experience in grain, sugar and steel.

Ole has held international trading roles in the steel industry as well as the grain industry, and has lived in the UK, Hong Kong and Australia. Most recently he was Senior Manager with FCStone Australia Pty Ltd heading up their advanced risk management division in Australia. Prior to that Ole was employed by GrainCorp for 7 years in various trading roles.

Ole is a board member of Grain Trade Australia (GTA) and is also a GTA arbitrator.

Ole has been a director on the board of Barley Australia and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).

Ole holds a BA in International Business from Southbank University in London, a Masters of Applied Finance from Kaplan and an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) in Sydney and is currently undertaking a Juris Doctor (JD) in Law.

Sam Sloane

Director of Brokering – DCT

Sam has been with IKON Commodities since 2013 and leads the brokerage division, building on his background in advisory and risk management. Sam combines deep market expertise with strong industry relationships to deliver tailored, value-creating solutions for clients across the commodities sector.

Before joining IKON, Sam spent four years advising ASX-listed companies, developing sharp insights into client strategy and capital markets. His agricultural roots underpin his commitment to advancing Australian agribusiness.

Sam holds a Bachelor of Business (Finance) from the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) and the University of Miami (USA).

Alistair L’Estrange

Domestic Wheat Broker

Alistair L’Estrange brings over 15 years of experience in the agricultural industry to IKON Commodities, where he plays a key role in the brokering team. He is recognised for his strong brokering skills, building long-term client relationships, executing trades with precision, and delivering tailored solutions. Before moving into brokering, Alistair worked in advisory and risk management at IKON, giving him a well-rounded understanding of client needs and market dynamics.

Raised with strong family ties to farming, Alistair holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics (Finance major) from the University of Sydney. While studying, he worked with ANZ in Global Markets and Corporate Agribusiness, supporting research and documentation initiatives

Peter Camilleri

Coarse Grains Broker

Peter Camilleri comes from a cotton, grains and oilseeds farming background and has been involved in the financial markets 7 years having obtained experience in the Australian and global markets prior to joining IKON. Peter has knowledge in the foreign exchange, commodity futures and equities markets. Peter has held sales and trading roles in the aforementioned products with Commodity Broking Services and Saxo Capital Markets Australia.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics, majoring in Agribusiness, with a certificate in cotton production from the University of New England. Peter also holds a Diploma in Financial Services as part of his ASIC RG146 compliance course and during his years of studies completed a thesis on the gold market.

Alexander Macdonald

Oilseeds and By-products Broker

Alexander Macdonald is our Australian domestic oilseeds and by-product markets broker.

With a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, specialising in economics, he combines technical expertise with a practical understanding of market dynamics. Passionate about the agricultural sector, Alex is known for his hardworking, solutions-focused, and approachable nature, helping clients navigate complex markets while building strong and trusted relationships.

Josh Lawrence

Advisory Consultant

Josh started his grain career in 2005 and brings extensive industry expertise to IKON Commodities. His expertise spans supply chain optimization, grist optimization, trading strategies, and risk management planning. Josh’s career includes positions at Cargill and the GrainCorp/Cargill JV Australian Grain Accumulation. He later joined Allied Pinnacle, Australia’s largest integrated flour mill and specialty baker, rising to the Executive leadership team where he managed operations from grain origination to price risk management and commercial sales.

Josh serves clients from across the supply chain, including leading growers, stockfeed and food manufacturers, as well as sustainable fuels. He actively contributes to industry development through his membership on key Grain Trade Australia committees. He holds an MBA from Macquarie Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Agribusiness from the University of New England.

Lee Hodge

CFR Broker

Lee joined Ikon Commodities in 2025 and has been involved for 15 years in the agricultural sector. Lee brings a wealth of executive-level experience to his role at Ikon Commodities. His career includes key leadership positions on the executive teams of both Emerald Grain and Louis Dreyfus Australia Grains & Oilseeds.

Lee’s expertise is unique, spanning both commercial and operational functions. He has served as Commercial Manager for Emerald Grain, overseeing international marketing and chartering, and as Head of Supply Chain for Louis Dreyfus Australia. This dual perspective allows him to expertly navigate clients through the complexities of the trade process, providing strategic oversight to minimize risks and optimize execution.

Lee is passionate about building transparent relationships with clients and finding smarter ways to manage commercial and operational risk

Archer Howard

Commodity Broker

Archer joined IKON Commodities in 2025 as a Commodity Broker, supporting both the domestic and international brokering teams. With a background in finance and a strong connection to the grains industry, he brings a blend of analytical capability and industry familiarity to the role.

Before joining IKON, Archer began his career at Steadfast Group as a Mergers and Acquisitions Analyst, following a graduate program across various areas of the insurance industry. Prior to this, he gained early industry experience in soft commodities working in grain logistics and quality control at the Australian Durum Company.

Archer holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Finance and a minor in Economics from the University of Sydney and is working towards obtaining his CFA. Bringing a strong analytical mindset and a relationship-driven approach, he is excited to return to the grains and commodities sector and contribute to IKON’s client-focused solutions.

Sarah McIntosh

Financial Controller

Sarah is a qualified CPA with over 15 years of experience in bookkeeping, financial reporting, budgeting, and regulatory compliance, including BAS, income tax, FBT, and statutory reporting. She is highly skilled in managing day-to-day financial records, cash flow forecasting, month-end close processes, and year-end audit preparation.

With a background in both public and private accounting, Sarah ensures accurate financial tracking and full compliance with regulatory requirements. She is also a detail-oriented and results-driven payroll professional, with over 7 years of experience managing end-to-end payroll processing, award interpretation, enterprise agreement compliance, superannuation obligations, Single Touch Payroll (STP), PAYG, and payroll tax across multiple states and territories.

Her diverse experience has equipped her with a comprehensive skill set in both accounting and payroll, which she applies with vigour and passion in her role at IKON.

Sarah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Western Sydney University and is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA).

Bill Chen

CFR Broker

Bill brings over 18 years of extensive international trading experience to IKON Commodities, with a strong focus on CFR and FOB transactions. Bill developed a deep expertise in a wide range of products for both feed and human consumption, including grain and forage hay most recently out of Australia

Bill has a unique expertise and understanding of the China market, leveraging strong relationships that he helps source product out of Australia and North America. Bill also services the wider south-east Asian and sub-continent markets for IKON’s CFR business.

Bill finished high school in Toronto, Canada and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Flinders University in South Australia.
